I have tried several trackers and this particular one is the most convenient as it is always powered. The 54 by LandAirSea is also worthwhile as it can be more discrete than the OBD Sync model. Customer service is always quick to respond and the devices themselves are easy to activate and reliable in most circumstances. Overall I can recommend LandAirSea and their product.
I never thought I would actually write a review for a product but the practicality of actually owning a reliable tracker is something i won’t ever take for granted again. My grandmother, who is 79, insists on driving herself to her appointments and to get groceries. With this tracker i can keep my sense of mind knowing exactly where she’s at all times. Super easy to install and super easy to set up with your phone.
Tracks every 3 seconds for no additional cost. I used two other trackers before this and this service is vastly better. Web app and iPhone app work great. It seems a bit expensive, but so far it is really professional quality with no upsell requirements. Tracking is highly accurate. I signed up for yearly service, not monthly, for several devices now. I hardwired them in hidden places in my vehicles, and I am not using the OBD2 port -- which will help if any of my cars get stolen (they won't know where to find these trackers) and does not get in the way for the service technician. Very happy so far.
Set-up is a snap, just plug it into the OBD port and you are set. No drilling, no wires to run (except as noted below) and downloading the App was a breeze. The user interface, has a quick learning curve and the next thing you know, you are on your way with full tracking. I like the fact that my system is 4G rather than 2G or 3G like some of the cheaper GPS systems I looked at.The only downside was not caused by the unit, but rather by my Jeep. My OBD socket was located where my foot would sometimes kick the unit when I got out of the the Jeep (I wear size 12 boots). This was easily solved with a $7.99 OBD extension cord that let me relocate the GPS unit (and at the same time, hide the unit a little deeper under the dash). The unit seems well built and nearly bullet proof. So far, a happy customer. I will update the review if anything changes.
Im giving 5stars for the great customer service i received from Kathy in IT. She promptly fixed an issue i was having with my first unit and so far the service has been a useful tool. It however is not free and requires further monthly funding as far as i know. We have additional employees on the payroll that may require this device in order to maintain our insurance rating.
